In reply to Carolyn. It was definitely a combination of both since cream changes the fat ratio and the chocolate milk mix changed the sugar ratio. You also don't want to refrigerate muffin batter before baking. You'll actually get better results by letting the batter rest while the oven heats up. It gives the starch in the flour more time to absorb the moisture from the liquid in the batter. There's another method that uses the refrigerator, but that's an overnight process.

I made these today. I had to use heavy whipping cream for milk. Wanted chocolate with chips, so only had chocolate milk mix.
My end result was sinked in muffins. Was it the chocolate milk mix, the whipping cream, or both of them? I chilled batter while oven heated. Baked for time shown.
They taste good though. Will try again with correct ingredients.

Can the batter be made in advance? And can it be stored in refrigerator until it’s going to be used?

These were perfect! I am not an experienced baker and have wondered why both baking powder and soda have been in many other recipes. I soaked some raisins in pineapple juice and used shredded carrots with a little orange zest thrown in. I used 1/2 butter, 1/2 coconut oil, and half and half in place of milk. Both my hubby and I loved these! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!
