I’ve made these about 10 times now and they are delicious! A perfect combination of flavors. Leftovers reheat nicely in microwave, air fryer, or oven. I always use sliced pepperjack, just because it’s faster. A 10-slice package covers a King’s Hawaiian rolls 12-pack in the two layers perfectly. One note – these always take longer than 10 minutes to heat through to the center rolls, but that’s a good thing because it gives the buttery top & bottom buns time to get to a just right amount of crunchy but still so soft. Perfection!

Made these for a birthday party this weekend. Everyone kept asking which caterer made these and raved about them. I did use about half the butter (if that’s intimidating you) and they were still excellent. Thanks for sharing such a great recipe! Highly recommend.

Absolutely wonderful! The poppyseed butter mixture really took it to the next level! I had used up some turkey legs that needed to be cooked. I shredded them like pulled pork, was a big hit with the crowd!
Definitely a keeper recipe!

I used provolone and a small amount of Swiss instead of pepper jack, but followed the recipe otherwise. The sandwiches were delicious! I considered omitting the green chiles, but am glad I left them in. They really added to the flavor.

Delicious! Needed to bake considerably longer than 10 minutes. Baked about 15 minutes covered, then 10 minutes uncovered.
