Peel the skin off and dice the pepper according to the recipe. A fresh red pepper has a better flavor than a jar one.

Yum tastes just like when I was a kid. Great recipe, I followed it exactly except I seasoned the chicken with chicken seasoning prior to cooking and also added a pinch of salt and dash of pepper once the sauce was just simmering.

Used gluten free flour for hubby. Added black pepper, dried thyme leaves and a chicken bouillon packet. Very good. This would also make a great filling for chicken pot pie.

Reminds me of my grandmas, she used to make a loaf of toast set it in the middle of the table and we would go to town on it. I added some chopped o ion and celery, but followed the rest of your recipe served it over biscuits. Loved it!

I replace the frozen peas with frozen peas and carrots and skipped the pimientos. Also eliminated the egg yolks and heavy cream. Delish!

It’s seems to be missing something. Maybe sherry? It’s very bland and needs a lot of salt. But not bad. Thank you for the recipe.😊

Outstanding. I didn’t have pimentos which is really a main ingredient but it tasted wonderful anyway. I served it over biscuits.
