Well that’s frustrating! Here are some troubleshooting ideas:

Chill the dough: Make sure it’s nice and cold before baking, or they’ll spread too fast.
Generously coat in powdered sugar: This helps create those cracks!
Check your oven temp: Too hot, and the cookies won’t have time to crackle. An oven thermometer is great for catching fluctuations of ovens that need to be re-calibrated.

So easy to make. I froze the dough overnight and I think that was the key to success. So fudgy and delicious!

I made these today, first attempt at Crinkle cookies and I am very pleased with the results. Only thing is I got 3 dozen from a single batch but recipe states 12 – 15 cookies. I baked them for 12 minutes. I am always pleased with the results I get from this website.

Stay at home chef recipes have always be a success for me but not this one. It is more like a brownie dough. Even after placing in the freezer the dough would stay in a ball. Dough spread to solid mass on the cookie sheet before even placing in the oven. So I scraped the dough by spoonfuls in a greased muffin tin and baked at 350 for 15 minutes. So now I have a small brownie muffins not chocolate crackle cookies.
