In reply to Rowanne Bowden. They are also called candy melts. It's simply chocolate that melts easily. You can use any other melting chocolate, including chocolate chips.

Omg. Finally!!! I made two other shortbread recipes and the cookies tasted too floury… this was my final attempt at making them and am I ever glad I didn’t give up!!! As I was mixing - you could already tell the difference in the dough consistency. These are soooooooo melt in your mouth buttery goodness. They are so good - they taste very bad for you although I’m sure they are. But who’s counting calories. Thank you so much for this recipe. I’m safe keeping it. People look no further!!! THIS IS THE ONE!!!

I’ve made this cookie recipe several times. My family and friends love them! It’s a crowd pleaser!
I’ve used salted and unsalted butter to make these cookies and both ways tasted great. there was no significant difference using salted vs unsalted.

Wonderful! I made these for a holiday cookie exchange. I drizzled the melted chocolate on top and sprinkled sparkly sprinkles on top. These cookies are VERY easy to make, which surprised me. Thank you!
