Combine 8 cups apple cider, 2 cups orange juice, and 1/2 cup lemon juice in a large pot.
Quarter 2 medium apples and thickly slice 1 medium orange and add to the pot along with 1/2 cup brown sugar, 4 whole cinnamon sticks, 1 tablespoon whole cloves, and 1 teaspoon whole allspice. Stir to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for 1 hour. Stir occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves and the flavors blend.
After simmering, use a slotted spoon to remove the apples and orange slices. Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh strainer into a serving container to remove the whole spices. Serve warm.
Notes
To use apple juice instead of apple cider, reduce the brown sugar by about 2 tablespoons, since apple juice is naturally sweeter. Add an extra ½ teaspoon of cinnamon or a couple more cloves to give it more punch, tasting as you go.
